Michael Lama – Deer Path Inn General Manager:
“We treat the people who come here like family. We do everything for them from the heart and we only buy the best quality of food. We have white jacket service along with the old-fashioned white gloves. As you walk into the hotel, the ceiling (with all imported pine beams from England) further enhance the setting… it's very special. You walk into the lobby and there are all fresh flowers all the time. You go into the bathroom and there is a beautiful flower arrangement in an exquisite Italian vase. I'll be honest with you; when things slowed down after 9/11 I increased the flower budget. When things are tough you have to have shiny shoes. I tell my staff, ‘just think about what your parents did when you were a little kid. When they invited people to your house what did they do? They brought out the best china and silver, they cleaned everywhere, and they made sure the kids had haircuts.' That's what it is. That's the hospitality business."
